Library Project Continues

Thanks to our donors, work has begun on our library project. They have been plastering the walls, have put in the door and window frames, and are planning to pour the floor soon. Pictures of the work in progress are up on the Library Project page. Thank you to everyone who gave to make it possible to start this project. We are still nearly $8,000 short of our goal for the project, however. You can help by donating online.



TETEA Fundraiser & Vicki’s Graduation Party!!

Join us in Baltimore to promote Tetea and help Vicki (Tetea Board Member) celebrate her graduation from Johns Hopkins University!

  • Where: Baltimore, MD
  • Who: Friends of Tetea or Vicki
  • Admission: $25 donation
The cost of admission will be $25 at the door. All African apparel is encouraged to be worn! There will be light fare provided, Tanzanian music, dancing, and a cash bar (beer and wine). There are also various hand-crafted items direct from Tanzania that will be silently auctioned from 7pm to 9pm. So please do not forget your checkbooks and cash! All proceeds will be given to TETEA to support its library project and ongoing sponsorships of students in Tanzania. Since TETEA is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization, your admission ticket and donations are tax-deductible and a receipt will be provided. If you cannot attend, we would still appreciate your support. There are various options to support the students of Tanzania pursue more enriching educational opportunities.

A-Level Results

Form Six results have been released for 2010. Available either on the Ministry of Education website or here:

Also of note, examination fees for all Tanzanian students have been waived in 2010 for Form II, Form IV, and Form VI exams. Seen largely as a popular move in an election year, it does reduce the burden on families, as examination fees are equivalent to a year’s school fees in a government day school.
